  • Switching to us is simple and straightforward!

    There's a number of ways you can switch your gas and electricity supply to us. The easiest way is to sign up on our website using our online form, choose the product you want, click the 'apply now' button and fill in the form.

    If you would rather speak to us, please give our specially trained advisers a call on 0800 980 2472*. They'll chat to you about our range of products and help you choose the best one to suit your needs. We're open from 8am to 8pm Monday to Friday, and 8am to 2pm Saturday.

    If you've already switched

    If you’ve chosen to join us, it’s usually a four week switching process and we keep you informed every step of the way. We'll also make sure that you receive a pack which includes a copy of your contract along with our terms and conditions.

    Here's what happens when you switch to us

    Week one 

    • Your application is underway. You’ve got a seven day cooling off period that starts on the day you completed your application. The cooling off period allows you to make a change or cancel your application to join us if you wish to.

    Weeks two to four 

    • We’ll let your current supplier know that you’ve chosen to switch to us. So you don’t have to worry about letting them know.
       
    • We’ll be in touch during the process to keep you informed. We’ll let you know the date your supply starts with us. If you’ve chosen to pay by Direct Debit, we’ll also confirm your bank details and the date we’ll start taking the Direct Debit payments from your bank account.
       
    • When we’re almost ready to start your supply with us, we’ll ask for your opening meter readings. Find out how to read your meter. 
       
    • A few days before your supply starts with us, we’ll send you a Welcome Pack which gives you lots of useful information on Hydro, our products and services. We’ve also included some useful contact numbers, if you need to speak to us.
       
    • That’s it – you’ve started your supply with us!

    After your supply starts 

    • If you chose a regular payment plan we'll start receiving this payment on the date we've agreed with you. Details of this can be found in your welcome letter.
       
    • We'll send your first bill within three months of you joining us.
