    What’s a Feed-in Tariff?

    A Feed-in Tariff (FiT) is an incentive structure legislated by the Government to encourage the adoption of renewable energy in the UK. It means that we will pay you up to 41.3p/kWh for every unit of electricity that you generate. Plus, for every metered unit1 of electricity you feed into the power grid, we’ll give you an extra 3p/kWh2. Feed-in Tariffs are available from the 1 April 2010.

    How do I sign up?

    1) Please read our FiT terms and conditions and ensure you are happy with them before completing your application form.

    2) Please fill in the following application form and return it to us with your MCS certificate and proof of ownership of your equipment i.e. invoice.

    1. Only applies to exported electricity through Ofgem approved meters.
    2. Based on the equivalent saving of 13p per standard unit rate of electricity from Scottish Hydro as at 01.09.09 and a Feed-in Tariff of 41.3p/kWh as mandated by the Government plus 3p/kWh as an export tariff from Scottish Hydro. The Feed-In Tariff came into effect in April 2010 and is index linked. The Feed-in Tariff will be administered through Scottish and Southern Energy PLC (or your chosen supplier).
